We The People . . .
Those three words start the piece of paper from which our nation was founded.
To be followed by 10 amendments written about a week later plus another 17 throughout two centuries – the last of which was ratified 21 years ago – add to that voluminous Supreme Court cases that have been heard about how to interpret those laws . . . all started by those three words.
Today marks the 226th years since the piece of paper that defines us was written.
Even though July 4th is a kick ass day since it was the day we agreed to give the ultimate ‘screw you’ to our oppressors, September 17th is when we defined what we were going to be as a country . . . one of We The People.
Happy Constitution Day everyone.
